OREANDA-NEWS Unique grouse, which are popularly called "black tulips", bloomed on the mountain slopes of Sochi. This was reported in the local national park.
Several such grouse have appeared in this area: broadleaf, kholmovy and Lagodekhsky. Each of the species has striking distinctive features. In particular, the broadleaf grouse is very similar to the "black tulip" because of its dark color, and the hill grouse can be either yellow or greenish. Such flowers can be found on the Aibga and Achishkho ranges. Meanwhile, the Lagodekhi grouse can be found both on the slopes and in the forests.
The Sochi National Park said that careful attention and specific measures are important to protect mountain flowers. "And most importantly, don't pick the grouse," the volunteers urged. The experts also added that these graceful flowers should remain in their place — on the mountain slopes, in silence and harmony with nature.
Earlier in Sochi, the flowering of rare lyriodendrons, tulip plants that appeared in the Cretaceous period and caught the dinosaurs, began. Thus, they are now about 100 million years old. They resemble tulips with "daisies" in shape.
Also, the flowering of unique orchids from the taiga was seen in the Altai Nature Reserve. They are also called the "Cyprus slipper" because of their unusual shape and the beauty of their color. Scientists associate this type of orchid with the Mediterranean island, where the ancient Greek goddess of love Aphrodite once appeared from the foam.
