OREANDA-NEWS  Boeing has begun the development and production of the sixth-generation F-47 fighter for the US Air Force, the first flight of which is scheduled for 2028, according to the publication The War Zone (TWZ).

According to him, production of the first prototype began just a few months after the announcement in March of Boeing's victory in the competition.

"We are ready to go fast. We have no choice," commented Air Force Chief of Staff General David Alvin.

The F-47 program is part of the New Generation Air Supremacy Initiative (NGAD), which includes the development of unmanned satellites, new engines, weapons, electronic warfare and combat control systems.
