OREANDA-NEWS   The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the collapse of the academic building of the Industrial College of Energy and Communications in Vladivostok, according to the supervisory authority of the region.

According to preliminary data, on Friday morning in the premises of the college, commissioned in 1972, there was a collapse of reinforced concrete ceilings and a violation of the integrity of part of the facade of the building, the report says. Access to the college grounds is restricted.

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Primorsky Territory, in turn, reported that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Primorsky Territory have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of safety rules during construction or other work)," the report says.

The collapse of part of the building occurred during construction and installation work, the TFR notes.
