OREANDA-NEWSThe special services of Russia and Serbia jointly counter terrorism, exchange information and conduct joint operations. The director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin said this in an interview with RTS national television on RTS, published on Wednesday. Naryshkin is on a visit to Serbia in connection with the celebration of the Day of the Information Security Agency of Serbia, the channel notes.

“The situation in the Balkans is very, very tense, primarily because of the returning militants who fought on the side of terrorist organizations. They are looking for a new field of activity. Therefore, the security situation is very difficult both in Serbia and in Russia. We exchange analytical assessments of the situation in the territory of instability, we conduct joint operations to protect legitimate external Serbian and Russian interests", said Naryshkin.

When asked about the non-invitation of Russia and Serbia to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Poland, Naryshkin called the situation "an attempt to distort the outcome of the war".
