OREANDA-NEWS  Russian ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov will receive a payment from the Kamchatka Territory for a silver medal at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the law of the region of 2011, the athlete is entitled to 839,743 rubles, of which 730,576 rubles will be received. The coach (or trainers) will receive 419,872 rubles (365,289 rubles on hand).

Earlier, Filippov commented on winning the silver medal in the sprint. "Well, guys, the man said, the man did. Here it is, the medal. Who didn't believe in me last season? That's how legendary things are done," said Filippov.

Filippov won the first medal for Russian athletes at the Olympics. He finished second in the sprint, losing to Oriol Cardona Kohl of Spain.
