"Game over": Putin put the West in its place

OREANDA-NEWS There will be no more one-on-one games with Western countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference after a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Union.
"Why, what happened? How did this happen? What is their fault? It's like they're babies who were born only yesterday. That's not going to work, this one-way game is over. The military wants to increase their spending, let them increase it, but this also indicates their aggressiveness," the president stressed.
Vladimir Putin also noted that the militaristic frenzy of the West is based on the thesis of Russia's "aggressiveness", and everything there is "turned upside down."
In recent years, Russia has noted unprecedented NATO activity near its western borders. The Alliance is expanding its initiatives and calls it deterrence of aggression. Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of the bloc's forces in Europe.
The Foreign Ministry declared openness to dialogue with NATO, but on an equal basis, while the West should abandon its policy of militarization of the continent.
The Russian president has repeatedly explained in detail that Moscow is not going to attack NATO countries — there is no point in that. Putin noted that Western politicians regularly intimidate their population with an imaginary Russian threat in order to distract attention from internal problems, but "smart people understand perfectly well that this is fake."
