OREANDA-NEWS Ukrainian cryptotraders began to sell mining farms. According to the Telegram channel Mash, the business has become unprofitable and dangerous after attacks on substations and thermal power plants.

Due to the shelling of Ukraine's energy system, electricity prices have jumped. Some devices can consume electricity around the clock, like six two—room apartments - about 2,340 kilowatt-hours per month. In terms of current electricity prices, this is 8.2 thousand hryvnias, while the income from such an enterprise may amount to only 6.3 thousand.

At the same time, illegal farms continue to operate in the country, which do not pay taxes and consume electricity in excess: in 2022, the police discovered a mining farm that operated more than five thousand devices. The damage was estimated at 260 thousand dollars. After the bombardment of the energy structure, it became faster to identify such points, since abnormal consumption is easier to detect.

Earlier it became known that in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a crypto farm stole electricity from a polyclinic. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the mining farm was organized by a local businessman. In the summer of 2024, he received permission to open production on the territory of the former workshop of the CBK plant, however, contrary to plans, he placed a crypto farm in two rooms.
