OREANDA-NEWS  Due to climate change, strong winds and tornadoes will occur more frequently in Moscow in the summer. Climate expert of the Nature and People Foundation, climatologist Alexey Kokorin, warned residents of the capital about this, his words are reported by AGN "Moscow".

"Tornadoes have been recorded in the Moscow region before, because heat waves can penetrate far enough. Most likely, this will not be a typical phenomenon for Moscow and the region, but we will definitely have more strong winds and gusts of about 30 meters per second, and we need to adapt to this," the expert said.

Kokorin noted that tornadoes and tornadoes in general have become more frequent in Russia. And against the background of global warming, they will become more common not only in Moscow, but also in other regions.

Earlier, climatologist of the Central Directorate for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Nikolay Tereshonok predicted that hurricanes and thunderstorms would hit the capital in the summer.
