Olympic champion became a senator from the Kursk region

OREANDA-NEWS Evgenia Lamonova, the 2008 Olympic champion in foil fencing, was appointed senator from the executive branch of the Kursk region. This was announced by the governor of the region, Alexander Khinstein, in his Telegram channel.
"Evgenia Alekseevna has repeatedly proved her dedication to the Kursk region and her willingness to serve for the benefit of the development of our region. An active, purposeful person with extensive experience, who knows the price of victory," wrote Khinstein. He also noted that Lamonova had previously held other managerial positions in the region.
Earlier it was reported that the Olympic champion will be considered for the post of senator from the Kursk region. Previously, this post was held by Alexey Kondratiev, who took office in 2024.
