OREANDA-NEWS During the so-called counteroffensive in the area of a special military operation, Ukraine has already lost more than 180 tanks and over 400 armored vehicles, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Their losses are very large - about more than one in ten compared to the Russian army. This is a fact. According to the technique, every day there is an increase in the loss of this technique. Somewhere now, to date, 186 tanks have been lost by the Ukrainian army and 418 armored vehicles," Putin said on Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), answering questions.

"What is happening with the so-called counteroffensive? Somewhere Ukrainian units manage to reach the first line, somewhere they fail. The question is not that, but that they use the so-called strategic reserves, which consist of several components: the first of them is designed to break through the defense, the second is to use troops to consolidate territories, move through the territory," the head of state said.

"They have not achieved their goals at any of the sites," the Russian president stressed.

Earlier, Putin reported that Ukraine has been conducting a large-scale counteroffensive since June 4.
