OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed interest in the possibilities of the national Goods Waiting Confirmation System (SPOT) being created in Russia, which will become an element of the fight against gray imports.

The Head of State held a working meeting with Valery Pikalev, head of the Federal Customs Service, in the Kremlin on Friday. The head of the Federal Customs Service stressed the need for a systematic approach to countering gray schemes.

"For this purpose, the Ministry of Finance, together with the tax and customs services, is working to create a national system for confirming the waiting for goods, the so-called SPOT. As part of the implementation of this system, the customs authorities will be empowered to monitor the availability of confirmation of information about the upcoming delivery of goods from the EAEU countries," said Pikalyov.
