OREANDA-NEWS Europe has taken the grain that developing countries were supposed to receive as part of the Black Sea Initiative in 2022. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He was quoted by RIA Novosti.

This is how he reacted to the statement by the head of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers (RAPU). Andrey Guryev said that this grain was supposed to be used by the countries of the south.

"And they went to Europe," the head of state stated.

In July 2023, Putin announced that the grain deal would be extended only if Western countries fulfilled the Russian requirements stipulated when signing the Black Sea Initiative. The grain deal ended on July 18 of the same year, after Russia withdrew from it.

The Russian president said back in September 2022 that all grain exported from Ukraine was sent not to the poorest developing countries, but to the countries of the European Union.
