OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed amendments to the Budget Code, which postpone the deadline for submitting the draft federal budget to the State Duma from September 15 to October 1 and strengthen control over participants in the budget process. The document is posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

The postponement of the deadline for submitting the draft budget to the State Duma ensures that it takes into account current macroeconomic indicators and balances it. The law also establishes the obligation of all participants in the budget process to use the Electronic Budget system and clarifies the requirements for information systems that support this process and their interaction with each other.

According to the law, the deadline for bringing regional state (starting in 2026) and municipal (starting in 2027) programs in line with the adopted budgets is postponed to February 1 from April 1. The Budget Code also establishes a requirement for the chief managers of budget funds to send projects for the distribution of subsidies from the federal budget to the regions and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation for the next fiscal year and planning period no later than August 20 of this year.
