The head of state also added that Moscow and Delhi are consistently switching to national currencies in mutual settlements: their share in commercial transactions is now at 96 percent, he said.

The Russian President arrived in India on a two-day visit on Thursday, December 4, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their informal meeting took place the night before, before which Putin answered questions from Indian journalists. In particular, he said that there are currently no goals for creating a single currency within the framework of the BRICS. Such tasks should be approached calmly, the head of state made it clear.
