OREANDA-NEWS Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and thanked the Russian leader for sharing the latest developments around the conflict in Ukraine. The politician stated this on his social network account.

"I had a very meaningful conversation with my friend President Putin. I thanked him for the information about the latest developments around Ukraine. We also discussed with him the progress in bilateral relations between Russia and India and confirmed our commitment to further deepen the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries," the Indian Prime Minister said.

Modi stressed that he was "looking forward" to meeting with Putin in India at the end of the year.
