OREANDA-NEWS  US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed skepticism about US President Donald Trump's position on negotiations with Russia. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing a source.

"Rubio waited patiently for [Trump's special envoy Stephen] approach. Witkoff's approach to interacting with Russia did not bear fruit, and then he was able to intervene and introduce even more skepticism," the publication claims.

According to the agency, the head of the State Department has become Trump's top foreign policy official, whose influence "seems to be only growing."

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Rubio informed Trump about Moscow's alleged unwillingness to negotiate, after which a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest was postponed.
