OREANDA-NEWS. The statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry about the non-recognition of the elections in Crimea will have a negative impact on relations between the two countries, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova believes. Previously, the official representative of Turkey published a message stating that Ankara "continues to support the territorial community of Ukraine and does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea." In this regard, the elections in Crimea "do not have legal force" for Turkey.

Maria Zakharova said that the Russian Federation will "draw conclusions" after the statement of the Turkish authorities. These conclusions, as the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry clarified, "clearly will not benefit the development of bilateral relations."

"Turkey knows perfectly well that Crimea appears to be a sovereign part of the Russian Federation, and it knows perfectly well that we never neglect such statements," -Maria Zakharova told the Solovyov Live Youtube channel.

The elections to the State Duma were held throughout Russia from September 17 to 19. According to their results, in Sevastopol, United Russia received 63.33% and 48.26% of the votes, respectively, its candidates won in all single-mandate electoral districts.
