OREANDA-NEWS Rossiya Airlines checked one of its Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft on the instructions of the Federal Air Transport Agency, no comments were revealed, the company told RIA Novosti.
Rosaviation ordered airlines to check a number of SSJ-100s after a letter from the aircraft manufacturer Yakovlev PJSC, which revealed a defect in the fuselage design of 14 Superjets (modification RRJ-95 with serial numbers 95104-95117) – the lack of fasteners between the cockpit and the front door of the aircraft. If a defect is detected, carriers need to limit flights of these aircraft until it is eliminated, the Federal Air Transport Agency noted.
According to the registry data on the portal russianplanes.net Airlines currently operate seven of these 14 airliners: Yamal uses five of them, and Rossiya and Azimut use one each.
"The airline necessarily performs all the necessary checks prescribed by the airworthiness directives. Directive 2025-FATA-01020A-08, issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency on August 1, 2025, covers only one aircraft in the airline's fleet. No comments were revealed during the inspection," Rossiya reported.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) is a Russian short-haul passenger liner designed to carry 98 passengers over a distance of approximately 4.4 thousand kilometers. The aircraft made its first flight in May 2008, and was put into commercial operation in 2011. UAC is currently working on a new, fully import-substituted version of the aircraft, the SJ-100.
