OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, on behalf of the government of the country, provided lump-sum payments to 27 thousand residents who came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces of the territories of Ukraine. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is noted that in total, the department accepted over 29,000 applications. For people with limited mobility and the elderly, money is delivered to their homes.

The amount of the lump-sum payment is 10 thousand rubles.

In addition, a number of cities in Ukraine and the Republic of Donbass received more than 1.3 thousand tons of humanitarian aid: food, bottled water, medicines and basic necessities.

In total, since the beginning of the humanitarian mission, about 24 thousand tons of cargo have been brought to the region.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
