OREANDA-NEWS Russian language teachers in Abkhazia will receive monthly surcharges of five thousand rubles from Russia. This was announced to journalists in Sukhumi by the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko.
He noted that by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, 54 million rubles have been allocated for this purpose.
Kireenko noted that a similar decision was made by the President of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, and teachers of the Abkhaz language will also receive additional payments.
In addition, according to Kireenko, Russia has allocated funds for the organization of the Navigators of Childhood project in Abkhazia.
"This is when every school has a person who is responsible not for teaching a subject, but for education. It is clear that such an education program in Abkhazia will have its own, it will be based on traditions, culture, and the code of Abkhazia, but in general it is a very correct thing," said the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
He called education one of the most important areas of cooperation between Russia and Abkhazia.
According to Kiriyenko, Russia will allocate 115 million rubles to support non-profit organizations (NPOs) in Abkhazia. He clarified that the competition for presidential grants for NGOs in Abkhazia will start on August 1.
"Starting from August 1, applications will be available. This year, we are ready to allocate 115 million rubles to social and development projects that can be received not by business organizations or government agencies, but by ordinary citizens and non-profit organizations," he said.
