OREANDA-NEWS The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has arrested in absentia journalist Alexander Nevzorov, whom the Ministry of Justice has included in the list of foreign media agents, according to a message in the Telegram channel of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction. The court granted the request of the investigation. Since Nevzorov is wanted, the preventive measure was chosen for 2 months from the moment of the TV presenter's detention in Russia or from the moment of his extradition to Russia, the press service of the court reported.

Nevzorov was charged in absentia with the public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Russian army abroad (paragraph D of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code, the maximum penalty is imprisonment for 10 years). The Investigative Committee announced the initiation of a criminal case against Nevzorov on March 22.

The IC claimed that Nevzorov twice published «deliberately false information about the deliberate shelling by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of a maternity hospital in the city of Mariupol» and accompanied it with «unreliable photos of civilians affected by the shelling». The IC stressed that the Ministry of Defense called this information false.
