OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian team took first place at the International Environmental Olympiad in Sirius, the Indian team took second place, representatives of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti became the third, the press service of the federal territory of Sirius reported.

The world's only full-time international Olympiad on ecology and climate change was held on the federal territory of Sirius. It brought together school teams from 11 countries: Russia, Belarus, Djibouti, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Myanmar, India, Qatar, Tajikistan, Costa Rica. The students solved urgent tasks that the world scientific community is working on today.

"The Russian team won gold at the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues. The second place in the team competition was taken by the Indian team, the third was shared by representatives of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti," the message says.

In the individual competition, the participants of the Olympiad received 26 medals. Russian schoolchildren won five individual awards at once: two gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Sofia Salangina from Ufa was recognized as the absolute winner of the competition.
