OREANDA-NEWS  The Duma of Samara at the next meeting decided to introduce a tourist tax for the hotel business, it will begin to operate in Samara from January 2026, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

"The draft decision proposes to introduce a tourist tax on the territory of the city of Samara, as well as to set tax rates within the limits provided for in the article of the tax code, with differentiation by year: in 2026 - 1%, in 2027 - 2%, in 2028 - 3%, in 2029 - 4%, by 2030 - 5% of the tax base," said Vladislav Zotov, head of the Department of Economic Development, Investment and Trade of the Samara City Administration.

According to the forecast of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Samara Region, if the tax is introduced, the budget of Samara will receive 95 million rubles in 2026, 133 million rubles in 2027, and 143 million rubles in 2028. These funds are planned to be used for the improvement of public areas, the creation of new places of attraction for guests, as well as for the repair and maintenance of urban infrastructure.

The decision was made by the majority of deputies. It will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
Zotov noted that the tourist tax has already been established in Tolyatti, Novokuibyshevsk, Pokhvistnevo and other municipal districts of the Samara region.
