Some divisions of Kamaz will switch to a four-day schedule

OREANDA-NEWS The production units of the Russian automobile concern Kamaz, which do not have a full load, are switching to a four-day working week.
The manufacturer justifies this decision by the crisis in the Russian truck market and its reduction by almost 60% in the first half of 2025. As previously stated in the company, the reason for this was the short-sighted policy of importers of trucks and the tight monetary policy of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, it was noted that sales of Kamaz decreased by only 30% in six months, while the company's market share increased to 40%. These figures are given without taking into account the state defense order.
Under these conditions, the company's management is negotiating with corporate clients on the purchase of additional equipment to load production until the market situation recovers.
The manufacturer assures that the social guarantees to the labor collective will be fulfilled in full in accordance with the collective agreement and Russian legislation.
In July, Lipinsky Automobile Plant started production on a reduced schedule, and Gorky Automobile Plant, which is on scheduled corporate leave until August 3, previously announced plans to switch production to a four-day working week from August. In turn, AvtoVAZ will also consider this possibility in early autumn, and may leave for four days starting on September 29.
