OREANDA-NEWS  On September 19, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle successfully launched a batch of 24 mini-satellites into orbit to replenish the orbital constellation of the global Internet coverage network of the Starlink system, the developer company SpaceX reported.

Yesterday, 28 similar devices were launched into orbit.

The launches were carried out from the SLC-4E launch pad at the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and the 40th launch Complex at the Cape Canaveral Space Force base in Florida.

All Starlink devices have reached their assigned orbits.

As part of the launches, the first reusable launch vehicle stages made guided vertical landings on offshore drone platforms in the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic.

Since May 2019, SpaceX has launched over 9.7 thousand such satellites as part of the Starlink project. Some of them are out of order or out of orbit. More than 8,400 vehicles are in orbit in working condition.

In the future, SpaceX plans to deploy an orbital constellation of 12,000 spacecraft (and subsequently 34,000) to create a full-scale network that will provide Earth's inhabitants with broadband Internet access anywhere on the planet. The total investment in the project is estimated at $10 billion.
