OREANDA-NEWS   Seven forest fires on an area of almost 45,000 hectares have been extinguished in Buryatia over the past 24 hours, the republican forestry agency reported.

According to the agency, over the past day, three fires have been detected in the republic in the Yeravninsky and Khorinsky districts.

"Seven outbreaks have been eliminated in the Baunt Evenki and Yeravninsky districts on a total area of 44,834 hectares," the report says.

It is noted that as of Tuesday morning, there are 12 forest fires in the region in the Barguzinsky, Yeravninsky, Kizhinginsky, Selenginsky and Khorinsky districts on a total area of more than 72.7 thousand hectares. There is no threat to human settlements.

530 people are working on extinguishing, 79 units of forest fire equipment are involved.

An emergency regime is in effect in Buryatia due to forest fires. The day before, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kurenkov, and the Minister of Natural Resources of Russia, Alexander Kozlov, held a meeting at which the head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, reported on the situation with forest and landscape fires in Buryatia and said that in the next 24 hours it is planned to extinguish five fires in the region on a total area of 42.3 thousand hectares.
