OREANDA-NEWS. Russian businessmen were ready for Polish sanctions against Gazprom, NOVATEK and the founder of Wildberries Tatyana Bakalchuk, PhD in Economics Yevgeny Ivanov said at the Economics Today FBA. The introduced restrictions are not new, they were included in the first European package, he noted.

In general, based on the example of previous sanctions against Russian business, our companies will be able to calmly carry out work in Russia, I don’t see any contradictions. But the activities of the same "Gazprom" in Poland will be limited. However, this also cannot be called a surprise, since after the aggressive actions of the EU and the West, all our businessmen were prepared for difficulties in the European market, which cannot be said about the Poles, who worked closely with companies that fell under sanctions, Ivanov said.

He added that Poland occupies the toughest anti-Russian position among the EU countries, its authorities “do not need to be persuaded for a long time” to such a policy, it is already ready.

Earlier, Warsaw compiled its own sanctions list against Moscow and Minsk, which includes 50 positions. It concerns Russian and Belarusian oligarchs and firms that operate in Poland. It includes Gazprom, Akron, NOVATEK, PhosAgro and all enterprises that supplied coal to the country from the Russian Federation and Donbass.
