OREANDA-NEWS The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a plan for the implementation of the Communications Industry Development Strategy until 2035, which is aimed at building a modern and secure telecommunications infrastructure, introducing new technological directions, and developing the scientific human resources potential of the industry, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

In December 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a Strategy for the development of the communications industry in Russia until 2035. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that its implementation, in particular, will connect 98% of households to the Internet at speeds of 1 gigabit per second, increase the average mobile Internet speed to 125 megabits per second, and provide 60% of the country's population with 5G networks.
