OREANDA-NEWS Anton Kotyakov, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, announced an increase in the number of unemployed people registering at employment centers. Kotyakov said this at an expanded meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy.

According to him, this situation has been observed since June. Before this period the number of unemployed was about 660-680 thousand.

"To a certain extent, we can see that the tension in the labor market is gradually starting to grow", he added. Kotyakov connected this situation, among other things, with the withdrawal of a number of foreign companies from the Russian market.

According to the minister, the government is taking measures to prevent deterioration of the situation in the labor market, which has already yielded certain results, but "the pressure on the business community continues". "We see that now there are two options for companies with foreign participation. In the first case, this is a change of ownership. In this case, on the part of employment centers and constituent entities of the Russian Federation, we help the new owner to keep the team, and build technological chains. But there are also examples when companies stop their activities. In this case, of course, we are more focused on working specifically with each citizen", he stressed.
