OREANDA-NEWS  Advance purchase of medicines and the creation of a reserve for at least four months occur in Russian medical institutions before each seasonal rise in morbidity, said the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko. His comment on the situation is quoted by RIA Novosti.

The head of the department noted that in the autumn-winter period, medical institutions hold a number of events. "Each period of preparation for the autumn-winter season begins with an analysis of the bed network, an analysis of stocks, including the predicted rise in the incidence of one or another influenza virus, and now it is still relevant, and coronavirus infection," he explained.

In addition, within the framework of preferential drug provision, the supply of medicines for privileged categories of citizens is maintained for at least four months, Murashko drew attention.

The head of the Ministry of Health called for the development of additional mechanisms to ensure that it is the pharmacy and wholesale networks that provide logistics from the warehouse in a timely manner, since "during periods of mass consumption of medicines, this must be done immediately."
