OREANDA-NEWS The Second Western District Military Court sentenced two Russian citizens Anatoly Kapralov and Gennady Blinov involved in cooperation with the Ukrainian special service. About this was reported by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.
The defendants, aged 35 and 37, were found guilty of treason. They received from 14 to 15 years in prison.
The court found that the Russians, under the supervision of a supervisor from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, conducted transactions with digital currencies and financial transactions. They purchased a batch of SIM cards, which were sent to Ukraine. Later, they were used in drones that attacked the Soltsy-2 airbase in the Novgorod Region and the Shaikovka military airfield in the Kaluga Region in August 2023.
At the same time, Kapralov transferred 676 thousand dollars to ensure the activities of accomplices operating in Russia.
The same court had previously sentenced members of an elite reconnaissance and sabotage group to terms ranging from 26 to 28 years in prison for attacking Shaikovka and other strategic facilities in Russia.
