The rate of decline in Russian diamond exports was estimated

OREANDA-NEWS In 2024, the volume of Russian diamond exports decreased by 28.7 percent, compared with 2023, and amounted to $2.623 billion. This was reported by the Prime agency with reference to the Kimberley Process.
According to estimates, imports also went down. The corresponding figure fell tenfold, or to $ 1,153 million. At the same time, the production of these precious stones in the Russian Federation increased to 37.323 million carats during the specified period.
According to Eurostat, diamond export revenues in the European Union (EU) fell at a record rate in the first quarter of 2025. The EU received only 1.4 billion euros in the supply of these precious stones. Belgian exports fell by a third, while German exports fell by 16 percent.
Meanwhile, May shipments of Russian diamonds in Hong Kong reached an annual maximum. The achieved scale of imports is estimated at $47 million.
