OREANDA-NEWS  The State Duma is developing a bill to introduce mandatory classification and expertise for the entire range of children's toys, Yana Lantratova, head of the Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Public and Religious Associations, told RIA Novosti.

"I would like to note the work of State Duma deputy Tatyana Butskaya, who is working on a bill to introduce mandatory classification and expertise for the entire range of products surrounding a child, from board and computer games to toys. We are talking about the fundamental safety of childhood," Lantratova said.

The parliamentarian noted that a model is being proposed in which manufacturers and importers are required to classify goods before the start of turnover in Russia with the involvement of accredited experts using a special checklist approved by the state.

According to the politician, this questionnaire will contain direct and unambiguous questions.

"Does the product contain violent scenes, suicidal motives, elements of pornography, LGBT propaganda*, insults to family, religion or Homeland?" Lantratova clarified.

The head of the Duma committee stressed that the responsibility for the reliability of responses lies entirely with business, and the state receives an effective tool for subsequent control and supervision.
