OREANDA-NEWS The UK authorities announced the imposition of sanctions against 24 individuals and legal entities associated with Russia. In particular, the list published on the website of the Ministry of Finance includes the oil companies Tatneft and RussNeft.

Such a decision means freezing of assets, financial and investment restrictions for those included in the register. London calls the reason for restrictive measures "participation in the destabilization of Ukraine, undermining or threatening its territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence; obtaining benefits from or supporting the Russian government."

In addition to these companies, NOC-Oil (an Independent oil and gas company), JSC Rusneftegaz, the Moscow cotton factory, citizens of the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan joined the British list.

Earlier today, on December 18, the European Union announced new sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet involved in oil transportation. 41 vessels were included in the list.
