OREANDA-NEWS In the federal territory of Sirius, three people who bought alcohol on the market died in hospital, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk said in her telegram channel on Wednesday.

"My colleagues from the OMVD of Russia in the federal territory of Sirius detained two residents of the Krasnodar Territory. They are suspected of involvement in poisoning citizens with alcohol," wrote Volk.

The detainees on the territory of the local Kazachiy market were engaged in the sale of homemade alcoholic beverages.

"After consuming it, several citizens were taken to a medical facility with signs of toxic effects. Subsequently, three of them died. According to available information, there may be more victims, including among tourists from different regions," the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry stressed.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence).

Police officers, with the support of the Russian Guard, conducted raids on the territory of the Kazachiy market, during which alcoholic beverages sold there were seized and sent for research.

Currently, the producer of life-threatening alcohol and persons involved in illegal activities are being identified.
