OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump has decided to renovate the White House and add a ballroom to it, NBC News reports.

The cost of the work will cost 200 million dollars, Trump will pay for it from his account. He called the ballroom a "gift." It is expected that the area of the premises will be 8.36 thousand square meters. It will be built in the east wing, which is traditionally used for offices of the first Lady of the United States. The work is scheduled to begin in September. The restructuring will be the largest since the presidency of Harry Truman (1945-1953).

Trump said the ballroom would meet the needs of the guests, many of whom currently have to stay in tents under awnings on the south lawn of the White House during events. According to him, when it snows or rains, it is impossible to stay under the awnings. The project includes the greatest architects, whose names, however, the president did not mention.

Earlier, after a Cabinet meeting, in violation of protocol, Trump talked for 15 minutes about the new design of the White House premises and even conducted a tour.
