OREANDA-NEWS US President Donald Trump has signed a decree imposing additional duties on Indian goods. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the White House.

It is noted that this tariff will amount to 25 percent and it was set in response to the fact that New Delhi continued to import Russian oil.

The day before, Trump threatened India with a serious increase in duties on its goods if it does not abandon the purchase of Russian energy resources. At the same time, he noted that so far the White House has settled on a 25% tariff.

Prior to this, the US president also predicted that if world oil prices fall by another ten dollars per barrel, the Russian authorities will have no choice and they will have to accept Washington's conditions on the situation in Ukraine.

In turn, analysts believe that India cannot abandon Russian oil, as this would result in a gaping hole in the economy. According to them, New Delhi's hands are tied in this matter.
