OREANDA-NEWS  The summit of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which will be held on May 8 in Moscow, will discuss the results of the work of the EAEU over 10 years and the prospects for further integration processes, said Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for International Affairs.

"There will be a practical discussion of the interim results of the Union's activities over the past 10 years. And during these 10 years, quite significant results have been achieved. The total GDP of the Union countries has grown from 1.6 to 2.5 trillion dollars," he told reporters.

The volume of mutual trade between the member states has almost doubled - to $ 80.5 billion, trade turnover with third countries has increased by 60%, the external debt of the Union has decreased by 15%, the portfolio of accumulated mutual direct investments has reached $ 17.7 billion, Ushakov added. He added that positive trends in the economy continue this year.

"The prospects for further deepening of integration processes will also be discussed (at the meeting)," Ushakov said.
The heads of state will be provided with a report on the implementation of Strategic Directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 and information on the results of work in the field of regulation of the activities of natural monopolies, he added.
