OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) may fine Google for the distribution of contextual advertising by AB Innovations Ltd, which did not have an appropriate license. The amount of the fine can range from 100 thousand to 500 thousand rubles, according to the FAS website.

“On February 19, 2020, the FAS Russia Commission found Google LLC guilty of violating the requirements of the law on advertising. Advertising by AB Innovations Ltd on www.google.com in August 2019 reported investment income and a hyperlink to go to her site", the agency said in a statement.

Representatives of the Federal Public-State Fund for the Protection of the Rights of Investors and Shareholders drew attention to this message and complained to the FAS. According to their information, AB Innovations Ltd didn't have a license to carry out financial activities, on the basis of which the antimonopoly service commission confirmed the violation of the law on advertising.

Thus, Google LLC, as an advertising distributor, was issued a directive to rectify the violation. “The materials of the proceedings were transferred to initiate an administrative case. The company faces a fine of 100 to 500 thousand rubles”, the FAS added.
