OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese company Huawei Technologies plans next year to begin installing its own Harmony OS operating system on more devices. Such gadgets will be implemented both on the domestic market and abroad, Reuters reported on Monday, citing the press service of the company. Huawei is going to use Harmony OS in its smart watches, speakers, virtual reality gadgets and other advanced technology products. The first device running on the Chinese operating system was the Honor Vision smart TV.

At the same time, the company has no plans to install Harmony OS on its most popular products: smartphones, tablets and computers. These devices will continue to use Android.

Meanwhile, in the future, Huawei plans to gradually switch to the Harmony OS operating system as an alternative to Android, owned by the American giant Google. Disagreements between Beijing and Washington could lead US companies to block China’s access to its own technologies. The development of Huawei's independent operating system will significantly reduce the risks associated with trade disputes between the two countries.
