OREANDA-NEWS. Russian oil company Rosneft promised to sue BBC News Russian Service because of material about the creation of a center for genetic research.

“The report of the British television and radio broadcasting company BBC about the creation of a genetic center with the participation of Rosneft contains an unjustified lie related to the Company and persons not involved in this project,” the statement published on the Rosneft’s website reads.

Earlier, BBC News Russian Service published an article that reported of a project on “accelerated development of genetic technologies.” It was stated that the nonprofit organization Development of Genetic Technologies, led by Konstantin Severinov, an adviser to the head of Rosneft, was created. The publication also mentioned that Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, Vice Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, Russian President’s Assistant Andrey Fursenko, and endocrinologist Maria Vorontsova may enter the supervisory board of the new entity. The latter was called the alleged daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
