OREANDA-NEWS. A monument to the soldiers of the Romanian army who fought on the side of Nazi Germany was unveiled in the Valya Morilor Park in the center of Chisinau. The photos were published by the media, but there was no reaction from officials, according to the Telegram channel «Sputnik. Near abroad».

On the monument, known as the spring of General Peony and opened with military honors, a military band and representatives of the Romanian Embassy, there is an inscription: «To the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Bessarabia and northern Bukovina by the Romanian army». This means that the monument is dedicated to the soldiers of Romania, who fought on the side of the Nazi troops.

It is reported that the monument at this place was originally erected in 1937, to mark the 20th anniversary of the joint battles of the Russian and Romanian armies during the First World War.
