OREANDA-NEWS For the first time, a Russian court imposed a fine for advertising on the Instagram social network (a social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation). This is reported by Mash on Telegram.
It is reported that the court fined lawyer blogger Evgenia Tutushkina from Krasnodar. It is noted that the reason was the blogger's video in which she talked about the advantages of a hotel in the Krasnodar Territory. It is clarified that the video was published in July, that is, before the law on the prohibition of advertising on the banned social network came into force. In addition, the blogger claims that she did not advertise the Krasnodar hotel, but shared her impressions of the rest. Tutushkina added that she had paid 60 thousand rubles for living there. According to Mash, the statement against the blogger was written by her subscriber. The court found Tutushkina guilty and imposed a fine of 30,000 rubles. The blogger noted that she plans to challenge the court's decision.
In a conversation with Mash, the lawyers, commenting on the incident, noted that such administrative cases will now be initiated regularly. The reason for this may be videos even with hidden ads, the report says.
On April 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning advertising on the websites of extremist organizations. It clarifies that in the event of a violation, both the advertiser and the distributor of the advertisement will be responsible. The new rules came into force on September 1.
