OREANDA-NEWS. The first electric bus, developed by the Russian company Drive Electro specifically for the Turkish automaker Otokar, went to Turkey. The contract for the development and creation of the electric bus with lithium-titanate (LTO) batteries of its own manufacture was concluded by the engineering company Drive Electro with the Turkish company Otokar in December of 2016, and in August of 2017 the first sample of the electric bus departed from Moscow to Turkey. In the customer's plans Ц there is the conduction of factory tests of the electric bus, after which the sample will be handed over for trial operation to the municipality of Istanbul.

As the press service of the company Drive Electro informs, the electric bus is a 100% low-floor city bus of a large class with a length of 12 m. The power reserve of the electric bus with LTO battery is in the range of 40 - 50 km. Charging takes place at the final stops of the routes for 6-10 minutes, which is 20 times less than the average charging time of the previous generation of batteries.

To date, Drive Electro has implemented a number of projects of passenger electric transport with a battery run. In Novosibirsk, electric vehicles and electric bus NEFAZ, developed by Drive Electro, by the order of Rosatom's fuel company TVEL, have been in operation since 2012. In 2014, 13 trolleybuses started to run in Tula - the world's first trolleybuses based on lithium-titanate (LTO) batteries. Together with KAMAZ in the spring of 2015, Drive Electro Company was the first in Russia to produce an electric bus with LTO battery.
