OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2016. Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault Inc., a microbrewery that produces Belgian-inspired craft beer with a Madawaska County twist, has expanded to help increase its brewing capacity, thanks to support from the federal and provincial governments.

Rene Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA); and the Honourable Francine Landry, Minister of Economic Development and Minister responsible for Opportunities NB, joined Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault Inc. officials at the microbrewery today to make the funding announcement.

The project included the addition of new reservoirs and a chilling system, as well as leasehold improvements to support an expansion. The improvements are expected to help the microbrewery accommodate group events and increase its production by approximately 30 percent.

The Government of Canada has provided a repayable contribution of \\$100,000 in the project through ACOA’s Business Development Program, while the Province of New Brunswick has invested a total of \\$50,000 through Opportunities NB and the Northern New Brunswick Economic Development Fund. The brewery’s 82 community shareholders have also invested \\$175,000 in the expansion.
