OREANDA-NEWS. Sviaz-Bank has won, for a third time in succession, a contract from the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), a public corporation, which selected it, in competitive bidding, to act as an agent to pay indemnity to depositors of defaulting banks. This time around, Sviaz-Bank will be paying indemnity to depositors of the Rubin commercial bank based in Makhachkala, whose license has been lifted, leaving its depositors with insurance claims.

As a multifunctional financial and lending institution, Sviaz-Bank will be accepting and paying insurance claims from “Rubin” depositors at its Daghestan branch and its central office in Moscow until September 21, 2007.

The list of damages it has received from the Deposit Insurance Agency contains 156 claims filed by “Rubin” depositors for a total of 4,332,598.99 roubles.
