OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 February 2008 Izhorskiye Zavody OJSC, a part of OMZ OJSC, announced that its Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Viktor Shevchenko as the company’s General Director. Mr. Shevchenko is also appointed Deputy General Director of OMZ OJSC.

Viktor Shevchenko was born in July 1941. He is a graduate of North-Western Polytechnic Institute. He started his career at Izhorskiye Zavody as a toolmaker, subsequently taking various positions including senior foreman, deputy chief of a workshop, and chief of a workshop. From 1979-1981, Mr. Shevchenko worked as chief technologist and deputy chief of Izhorsky Zavod Industrial Enterprise’s workshop. During that period, he was involved in the organization of the production of nuclear reactors at the Atommash plant. From 1981-1982, Mr. Shevchenko was director of the power engineering plant. In 1982-1987 he acted as Deputy General Director responsible for production at Izhorsky Zavod Industrial Enterprise. In 1987, he was appointed head of the Leningrad Metal Plant as General Director, a position he held until the period 2004-2005 when he was Director for Production Integration, Power Machines OJSC.
