OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2008. An Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of Turkmenistan on trade and economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was signed within the frame of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov to the Republic of Tatarstan, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

Scientific and technical cooperation, in particular, shall be promoted on the of mutually beneficial basis in the field of exploration, geophysical and geological follow-up of oilfields development, the oil field infrastructure establishment and field operation, corrosion control of pipelines, introduction of technological innovations and technologies in oil production and reservoir pressure maintenance, supply and maintenance of specialized equipment for oil production, service operations at oil fields, oil and gas processing, natural bitumen deposits development, research in the area of water supply, environment control, etc.

OAO Tatneft has made a considerable contribution into establishing of business and cultural ties with Turkmenistan. Earlier this year Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of OAO TATNEFT, and Garyagdy Tashliev, Chairman of the State run Company Turkmenneft,  discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation in the implementation of oil and gas projects in Turkmenistan and signed a protocol of intent between the companies.

In spring a sports delegation under the auspices of Tatneft visited Ashgabat.  The pupils of figure skating and hockey schools aranged demonstration performances in the Ice Palace in the capital of Turkmenistan, specialists conducted master classes and young hockey players of Turkmenistan were presented sets of sports equipment  

At present Tatneft has mounted and installed a batch of oil production equipment in the oil field of Turkmenistan, named Goturdepe, and proposals for   further development of the partnership are now considered. A group of young people from Turkmenistan is attending now a preparatory training course in Almetyevsk State Oil Institute and the work is on the way to improve the skills of Representatives of Turkmenneft at the Personnel Training Center of Tatneft and running in the field of oil production and well workover.

The cooperation agreement signed at the highest intergovernmental level opens up new opportunities for strengthening and expanding the partnership of Tatneft with the oilmen of Turkmenistan.
