OREANDA-NEWS. On December 10, 2008 the Investor Protection Association (IPA) held the eighth Award Ceremony, Russian Corporate Governance Leaders. The Association has been yearly evaluating corporate governance development in Russia, distinguishing companies and managers that demonstrate the greatest progress in the field. Winners are voted for in a survey involving a broad group of institutional investors who are IPA members, reported the press-centre of Rosneft.

This year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Rosneft Board of Directors Igor Sechin won the IPA Best Chairman of the Board award, which reflects Mr Sechin’s enthusiasm and unwavering focus on effectively implementing and continuously enhancing all elements of corporate governance at Rosneft.

In addition, Rosneft won an IPA nomination for Best Investor Relations. This is a further indication of Company’s strong commitment to promoting IR effort and ongoing and extensive dialogue with industry analysts.
