OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. Company Council session on the results of activity for 2008 was held. Chairman of the Company Council, Deputy Prime minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. E. Shaismatov conducted the session, reported the press-centre of Uzbekenergo.

In 2008, SJSC "Uzbekenergo" has maintained main parameters of production activity including: electric power generation - 101,6 %, export of production and services - 112 %, realization of means of capital construction - 111,3 % as compared to the forecast parameters.

In execution of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 28, November, 2008 № DP-4058 "About the Program on measures on support of the enterprises of real economy sector, maintenance of their stable work and increasing export potential", the necessary measures for maintenance of stable functioning power enterprises, performance of production activity forecasted parameters for 2009 are accepted by the Company.

The Plan on practical measures directed to the increasing electric power production price competitiveness, reduction of energy intensity of production has developed and is being realized by the Company.

Within the framework of the Investment Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for year 2008, the construction of the following objects was carried out by company own expenses: ash dump AD-2 at Novo – Angren TPP, 500 kV OHL "Syr-Darya TPP – S/S Sogdiana", the second transmission line and 500kV OHL "S/S Guzar – S/S Syrkhan".

Construction of 500 kV OHL "Novo-Angren ТTP – S/S 500 kV Uzbekistanskaya" with length of 164,9 km was completed to improve reliability of power supply of consumers in Fergana Valley and efficiency of functioning power supply system of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2008 220 kV section was connected to 500 kV OHL with the length of 117,4 km from total 164,9 km which was planned under the project. S/S 500 kV "Uzbekistanskaya" construction is carried out.
For deepening reforming in electric power sector according to the Decree of the President of Republic Uzbekistan dated July, 20, 2007 № DP - 672 "About measures on the further deepening privatization processes and active attraction of foreign investments in the period of 2007-2010" the assessment work, bidding and selling government assets at the enterprises, those producing electric and thermal energy, carrying out construction and repair work have been carried out.

The great work on strengthening social protection of power system employees was fulfilled. Within the framework of the branch Program "Year of Youth" 32- apartment building in Takhiatash city and 48-apartment building in Shirin city, as well as by September 1, 2008 the professional college for 585 students in Takhiatash city were commissioned.

At Company Council session, SJSC "Uzbekenergo" Board report "About results of Company financial and economic activity in 2008" and "SJSC "Uzbekenergo Business plan of development for year 2009" was approved.
